ladies, learn to accept compliments!

i think i mentioned this before, but i once had a man tell me that women do not know how to receive compliments. he even said he can get more of a response from a woman by calling her a b*tch than by giving her a compliment! isn’t that craycray?! he gave me countless examples of compliments he has given women, and he even called me out about one he gave me - he said, “your hair is so beautiful! it looks so healthy!” and i said, “i hate it, it is taking forever to grow!” ummm, why didn’t i just say “thank you”?

after he said it, i started to notice that there is definitely some truth to this notion. very rarely do we just say “thank you” when complimented on something, and that has to stop. we need to become more comfortable in our skin, and relax into our status as goddesses. if you were to compliment a queen, would she say anything other than “thank you”? hell no! seriously, we are all so special and beautiful, so it shouldn’t feel wrong to receive compliments, yet for some reason we shun it.

i challenge you today, to just say “thank you” when someone says something nice about you. say nothing else! lol. just “thank you” and keep it moving.

that being said - PLEASE watch this HILARIOUS comedy central video that sheds light on just how crazy we can sound. you will die laughing…my favorite is “no…i look like a whore locked out of her apartment…” SO FUNNY. (warning: contains nsfw language, so use your headphones).

praise God! i am obssessed with this webseries, and find all things parisian perfect. garance doréis adorbs and fabulous, and i am so excited to hear every word she has to say. i pray for an amazing job like hers! can you imagine???? what a blessing :)

anywho, this episode focuses on what is trending in paris (although this was posted on her site back on march 7th)! check out a few of the trends she mentions:

-bejeweled ears: hard to explain…you have to watch the video to grasp the concept…not my cup of tea though.

-white pumps: praise God because i have been secretly lusting for some for a while now #fashionforward

-camouflage: i have been noticing this more lately, and i am ready to #getinvolved

-designer blankets: worn as scarves, and skirts over pants (another trend).
